AI services and API policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
TekMagnus builds products and workflows that can use AI models through third-party APIs. This policy explains the principles we follow and which provider rules may apply.
Our principles
- Purpose first: we use AI where it serves a clear need.
- Human oversight: important decisions about people need appropriate human review.
- Transparency: people shouldn’t be misled about whether they’re dealing with AI, and AI-generated output should be disclosed where the law or provider terms require it.
- Testing: AI output can be wrong, so we test AI features and build in checks suited to their risk.
- Data minimization: we send AI providers only what a feature needs.
Client and confidential data
- We don’t use your confidential information to train our own models unless you agree in writing.
- We review how each provider handles data before using it in a project, and tell you which providers a project will use.
- Where a provider offers settings that limit data retention or use for training, we choose them when the project needs it.
- If your work is under an NDA, we’ll follow it when deciding whether and how AI tools can be used.
What we won’t build
We won’t knowingly use AI to:
- deceive people, spread disinformation or generate fake reviews or engagement;
- impersonate someone without consent;
- create sexually exploitative, hateful, violent or otherwise harmful content;
- carry out unlawful surveillance or discriminatory profiling;
- create malware or support other illegal activity;
- make consequential decisions about employment, credit, health or legal rights without appropriate human oversight.
Provider policies
When we use a provider’s AI API, that provider’s terms and usage rules also apply. These are the published policies for common providers. A project uses only the providers agreed for it.
| Provider | Policy |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Usage policies |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Usage policy |
| Google (Gemini) | Gemini API additional terms and Generative AI prohibited use policy |
| Microsoft (Azure AI) | Code of conduct for Microsoft AI services |
Providers change their policies, and the current version on their website applies.
